Thirty-three years ago the Hinsdale Central High School Parent Teacher Organization adopted as its only annual fund raising project, the Book Grant Fund. This fund was established to provide grants to graduating seniors who, without additional financial aid, might not be able to meet the expenses of their first year of college.
The commitment to this project has grown over the years. Since 1976 the fund has provided grants totaling $331,825 to 535 deserving students. All of this has been made possible through the generous contributions of concerned parents and others in the Hinsdale Central community.
To continue this fine tradition, the Hinsdale Central PTO welcomes your support of the 2008-2009 Book Grant Fund. Please consider making your tax-deductible donation today and help the PTO provide awards to the graduating class of 2009. Your donation will help make a student’s college dreams a reality. The Hinsdale Central PTO will once again be giving several Book Grants. Last year, 26 graduating seniors received $800 awards. These grants are given to help off-set the cost of your college textbooks. The grants are based on financial need.
